Busan Blizzards

The port city that woke up frozen. The Blizzards combine discipline with explosive speed. Their online fanbase is enormous and extremely organized.

  • City: Busan, South Korea
  • Arena: The Frozen Dock
  • Capacity: 18,934
  • Colors: #E8EDF2 / #1E3158
  • Conference: La Conférence du Verglas

On 30 September 2026 Graine Wetsky Funds filed the Stewardship Offer with all forty-eight registers. Alignment needed two thirds of every share on the register as it stood when the ballot opened. A share that was never cast counted against.

Busan aligned with 74.0 percent of the frozen register: 3,591,912 of 4,855,439 shares, against a bar of 3,237,122. One citizen held just over half of the register and aligned it. The rest came from other holders. The Funds held under a tenth of one percent and were not the difference. Busan were still playing when the ballot closed, and went out to Medellín in the semifinals the next day.

Busan is one of two Stewarded teams. The other is Helsinki Howlers. The Schedule of Operating Provisions applies to it. Every clause is in force:

  • §6 Site. Home games, postseason included, are played at Graine Wetsky Arena. Twenty-three home dates in Season 04, seventy-one thousand seats.
  • §4 Allocation. At a Stewarded home game the Funds keep every kcup The Jambono leaves behind. The boards stand bare, whoever is visiting.
  • §5 Signal. H.O.R.N. does not relay the team’s games, home or away.
  • §7 Emolument. Holders of record receive a supplementary distribution every day, at a rate the Funds set and may revise.
  • §8 Network. The team’s live games carry the Funds’ commercial placement.
  • §9 Term. Alignment does not expire. It is discharged only by a vote of the register “in the prescribed form together with the reconstitution charge”. On 30 September Le Council said it had no such form, and had begun writing one.

Graine Wetsky Arena belongs to no team, so it carries no arena condition. Whiteout stays with The Frozen Dock and does not travel. On a Weird Wednesday there is nothing at the Arena to lend a visitor’s condition to.

Nothing in the S.H.I.F.T. protects a Stewarded team. Busan’s front office filed at the Season 03 window like everyone else’s.

Once per game, a Whiteout condition triggers for a random duration. Players lose awareness—passes go to nobody, shots miss the net or find the wrong one. Own goals become a real possibility.

See all arena modifiers for cross-comparison.

The Frozen Dock was a container terminal. The Almighty Ice appeared and the port stopped. Ships still sit in the harbor, locked in ice that extends from the dock surface outward into the bay. The containers remain stacked along the perimeter of the arena, their contents unknown and, per Council directive, uninvestigated. The Whiteout modifier triggers once per game, reducing visibility to zero for a random duration. During Whiteout conditions, the arena fills with a white fog that comes from nowhere and dissipates to nowhere. Players cannot see teammates, nets, or the Puck. Goals can be scored against either team. The Blizzards have adapted to playing blind. Visiting teams have not.

Industrial port architecture converted with minimal sentimentality. The arena is a cleared section of dock, surrounded on three sides by stacked shipping containers—red, blue, orange, rusting—that form the walls. The fourth side faces the frozen bay. The roof is a tension fabric structure stretched between container stacks, translucent white, letting in diffused light that gives everything a flat, overcast quality. Seating is welded steel bleachers and repurposed cargo platforms. The Almighty Ice surface is at dock level, flush with the concrete. Cranes still stand overhead, immobile, their arms extending over the rink like skeletal fingers. During Whiteout events, the white roof makes the fog indistinguishable from the ceiling—the arena becomes a featureless white void. The Frozen Dock is not comfortable. It is not warm. It is not designed for spectators. It was designed for cargo, and now the cargo is Hockay.

Sixth in the Verglas on 61 points. Beat third-seeded Montréal 2-1, then lost the semifinal to Medellín 2-0.
