Teams

Forty-eight teams, 15 players each, split into two conferences of twenty-four. A team plays a round-robin inside its own conference—every rival home and away—followed by the playoffs. Cross-conference games are labelled Inter.

Teams are marked S2 or S3 by the season they arrived. The unmarked twenty founded the league. Teams marked Stewarded have aligned their register with Graine Wetsky Funds under Stewardship and play their home games at Graine Wetsky Arena from Season 04.

Every team page in the app carries Rivalries, Fans and Ownership tabs—who the team’s supporters have named as rivals, who follows it, and who holds its shares. Those figures move daily, so this wiki does not copy them.

There is also a forty-ninth building. Graine Wetsky Arena belongs to no conference and holds no parish. It was given to the league as neutral ice for the Season 3 Final, and from Season 04 it is where the two Stewarded teams play at home.

“The clear ice.” Twenty-four arenas, sorted, registered, whole.

“The pale ice.” Twenty-four arenas—the last of them three thousand metres beneath the North Atlantic.

You do not pick a team. You open this page, you look at the names, the cities, the colors, and something will feel correct. That feeling is not random. Le Council cannot explain it further. Go with it.

Your team is also your parish. Change your team and your parish changes with it. Le Council does not recommend this and will not be recording an opinion on those who do it often.

15 players per team—three forward lines, two defence pairs, two goalies. Additional players exist as free agents in the unattached pool—ninety-four of them on the eve of Season 04. Each carries a public 1–5 star rating. Players evolve over time through modifiers gained from gameplay events and time in the Sixth, and move between teams at the S.H.I.F.T.. Each team page lists the movements registered at every window so far.

Two squads appear on the schedule and in no standings table: the Verglas All-Stars and the Givre All-Stars, who play two exhibition matchdays after the Final. Since Season 03 each team sends one player at most. They are gated out of standings and every team’s record.

The Almighty Ice appeared in twenty cities, then four more, then twenty-four more in a single interseason during which Le Council revised the map so many times that the map began to feel less like a record and more like a suggestion. If The Ice decides to appear elsewhere again, there will be more teams. Le Council does not control this.

Le Council notes that forty-eight is a number that divides. Le Council has declined to say whether this is a coincidence.
