Medellín Mapaches
Medellín is the City of Eternal Spring. The Almighty Ice agreed and arrived in bloom. The Mapaches are scrappy, adaptable, and impossible to demoralize. They’re raccoons. They’ve been through worse.

The arena—lore
Section titled “The arena—lore”La Ladera climbs. The Almighty Ice did not appear on flat ground in Medellín—it formed against a hillside, tilted at an angle the league insists is not an angle, and the building was raised around it without anyone correcting the slope. Players who have skated elsewhere describe a permanent, low-grade sense that they are about to fall, and a corresponding refusal to. The Mapaches do not fall. The crowd arrives early and stays late and treats every visiting team as a temporary inconvenience to be outlasted. Le Council has classified the upper concourse as Glacified after three separate surveys returned three different elevations. The flowers in the planters along the entrance bloom out of season. No one waters them.
The arena—building
Section titled “The arena—building”A bright, terraced structure built into the hill, all warm stone and green ironwork, with open-air galleries that catch the spring air the city is famous for. The exterior is washed in pale ochre that holds the afternoon light. Cable-car lines run past the upper deck—whether they connect to anything is disputed. Inside, the seating banks steeply down toward The Almighty Ice from every side, so close that visiting benches report feeling watched from above, below, and behind at once. The boards are scuffed to a polish. The scoreboard is hand-painted and updated by someone no one has seen. Vines have reached the rafters in two seasons of existence, which is not possible, which the building does anyway.
Season 03
