LPCHUIP match advisories
Every match modifier reaches the public via a pre-game LPCHUIP advisory. Advisories come in three delivery tiers, each with different implications.
The three tiers
Section titled “The three tiers”Tier 1—The Almighty Ice notifies directly (ominous)
Section titled “Tier 1—The Almighty Ice notifies directly (ominous)”The Ice tells Le Council. Le Council relays. This is the most common tier and the most reassuring—the Ice is communicating.
“LPCHUIP MATCH ADVISORY: The Almighty Ice has notified Le Council that tonight’s match at The Sandy Parlor will be played under Wishes conditions. Le Council did not request this information.”
Tier 2—Le Council observes (normal)
Section titled “Tier 2—Le Council observes (normal)”Le Council’s instruments detect the conditions. The Ice has not notified anyone. Le Council is guessing, politely.
“LPCHUIP MATCH ADVISORY: Based on current observations of The Almighty Ice, tonight’s conditions at The Frozen Dock are expected to be Whiteout. This forecast is provided as-is. Le Council makes no guarantees regarding accuracy or completeness.”
Tier 3—Silence from The Almighty Ice (unsettling)
Section titled “Tier 3—Silence from The Almighty Ice (unsettling)”No notification. No observable signal. Le Council presumes default conditions. The community watches more closely during these games.
“LPCHUIP MATCH ADVISORY: The Almighty Ice has not communicated with Le Council regarding tonight’s match at The Oldest Rink. Conditions are presumed to be Clean Ice. Le Council finds the silence unusual but not unprecedented.”
