Player modifiers

Le Council has so far identified the following modifiers, grouped into four broad categories. The list will grow as Le Council’s investigators catalogue more. Modifier effects are often context-dependent; what helps one player may hurt another.

Statistical estimates below are drawn from R.I.N.K.’s Season 1 modifier assessment.

“They glow differently now.”

“The Puck finds them.”

StatEffect
Event involvement+40% to +60%

High event involvement. More shots, more hits, more penalties. Great for a star. Terrible for a liability.

“There seems to be two of them.”

StatEffect
Events+1 random event duplicated per game

A random event per game counts twice—a goal scores twice, a penalty is called twice. Which event, nobody controls.

“They remember things from before The Almighty Ice.”

StatEffect
One random stat (varies per game)+40% to +60%, once per game

“They came back speaking a language no one recognizes.”

Effects are Glacified.

“Something stayed behind in the Sixth.”

Effects are Glacified.

“They move with something the rest of us can’t feel.”

Effects are Glacified. Appear to be period-dependent.

Modifiers stack over a career, creating deeply weird veteran players who become legends. Le Council tracks all outcomes. Le Council does not explain them.
